Quartz Glass
For high thermal and optical requirements
Quartz glass encompasses a wide variety of material grades that can be specifically selected to meet technical, thermal, or optical requirements. Depending on the grade, the material is characterized by high temperature resistance, high purity, and broad transmission across the spectrum from the ultraviolet to the infrared range.
The specific properties are largely determined by the raw material and the manufacturing process. As a result, quartz glass is available for a variety of application conditions and requirements regarding transmittance, purity, and temperature behavior.
Schröder Spezialglas supports customers in selecting a suitable type of quartz glass and in implementing it in a production-ready manner - from the first sample to series production.
Quartz glass is not a uniform material, but rather encompasses numerous varieties with different technical and optical properties. Depending on the specific grade, it can offer high transmission in the UV, visible, and infrared spectrums and can be used in applications involving high thermal loads.
It is characterized by low thermal expansion and the resulting high resistance to rapid temperature changes. Depending on the grade and specific operating conditions, quartz glass can be used at temperatures of up to approximately 1,100 °C. The exact temperature limit must always be assessed based on the intended application and the grade of material used.
Schröder Spezialglas precision-cuts quartz glass from block material and manufactures custom components from it according to drawings. The required dimensions, tolerances, and surface requirements are taken into account as early as the planning stage to ensure that the material and manufacturing process are tailored to the intended application.
For decades, Schröder Spezialglas has been supporting customers in industry, research, and development in the implementation of technical glass solutions. From the initial idea through prototyping to mass production, we combine expertise in materials with modern manufacturing processes and documented quality procedures.
