Optical colour filters

Optical colour filters are made of coloured glass and are essential components for the transmission or blocking of certain spectral ranges. Glass filters are suitable as substrates for thin-film coating, e.g. in the production of interference filters.

Sapphire monocrystal is noted for its high mechanical strength, chemical resistance and temperature stability and additionally offers good optical transmittance from 200 nm. Wherever extreme levels of wear resistance, hardness, inertness, temperature stability and chemical resistance are demanded, sapphire is the right solution.
